Half Of Consumers Are Not Aware Of Online Threats?

Knowing Is Half The Battle: Half Of Consumers Are Not Aware Of Online Threats? - Consumerist

A study by Microsoft found out that 58% of Americans didn’t even know “online threats” existed.

I wonder how many of them never heard of rape, murder, fraud and theft. Maybe they’ve only ever seen car crashes in movies, and they believe the 6 o’clock news is sketch comedy with bad punchlines.

I’m anti-stupid in general, but how can we call this a modern society if the people can’t even absorb the basic information that’s been flooding the various media for five years ? There is no excuse: if you’re on the net, but never heard of scams, what kind of backwards disconnected web sites are you visiting ?

Is there a mysterious Intertardnet I’ve never heard of, where every single paragraph is about Chevrolets and pumpkin pie ?

If these numbers speak the truth, then we (non-tards) need to quit our day jobs, move to Russia (ehh.. maybe not!) and start scamming Americans like there’s no tomorrow. They’ve already allegedly pissed away 7 BILLION dollars on internet fraud, perhaps we should continue siphoning money out of the country until there’s none left to make guns and bombs and shitty ass movies about girly blue dragons anymore.
